VEOX - VIEW
Flat Panel Detectors for Digital Radiography and Dynamic Imaging
VEOX View is the flat panel detector family behind every VEOX imaging system and a practical route for upgrading an existing X-ray room to digital radiography. VXS is the wireless detector in 14x17 and 17x17 formats, VXD is the 17x17 wired configuration, and VX RF is the dynamic high frame rate detector for fluoroscopy and RF workflows.
What Is the VEOX View VX Series?
The VEOX View VX Series is the flat panel detector (FPD) family in the VEOX portfolio. A flat panel detector is the component that converts X-rays into a digital image, replacing film and computed radiography cassettes and delivering the image to the acquisition workstation within seconds of exposure.
Three models cover the range. VXS is the wireless detector, offered in practical 14x17 and 17x17 configurations. VXD is the 17x17 wired, tethered configuration for installations where a permanent connection is preferred. VX RF is the dynamic detector with a high frame rate configuration for fluoroscopy and radiography-fluoroscopy workflows.
Detector sizes are deliberately excluded from the model names. The model identifies the detector type, wireless, wired or dynamic, while format is a configuration decision recorded in the specification. That keeps quoting and procurement straightforward across a multi-room facility or a distributor catalogue.
Two Ways to Buy a Detector
VEOX View detectors ship inside VEOX Fixed, Move, Portable, U and C systems as the standard imaging chain. They are also supplied on their own, as the digital upgrade path for facilities still running film or computed radiography on an otherwise serviceable X-ray generator and tube.
A detector retrofit is usually the cheapest route from analog to digital radiography, because the generator, tube, table and room stay in place. What changes is the image chain and the workflow, and both are handled by the detector plus VEOX Workstation WX.
- ›Supplied as the standard detector across the VEOX imaging portfolio
- ›Available separately as a CR to DR retrofit for existing X-ray rooms
- ›Integrated with VEOX Workstation WX for acquisition and PACS routing
Choose the Detector Type, Then the Format
Wireless, wired and dynamic detectors solve different problems. The right choice depends on where the panel is used, how often it moves and whether the workflow is static or dynamic.
VXS, Wireless Flat Panel Detector
The wireless configuration is the flexible choice: it can be moved between the table Bucky, the vertical stand and free positioning behind a patient, which makes it the natural fit for mobile and portable work. Practical 14x17 and 17x17 options are available depending on the launch configuration.
VXD, Wired 17x17 Detector
The tethered 17x17 configuration suits a fixed position inside a table Bucky or wall stand, where the panel does not travel and a permanent connection removes battery management and pairing from the daily routine. It is the dependable choice for a high-volume fixed room.
VX RF, Dynamic Detector
The dynamic configuration supports high frame rate acquisition for fluoroscopy and RF studies, where the requirement is a moving image rather than a single exposure. This is the detector behind dynamic imaging workflows in the VEOX range.
VEOX View VX Series Models Compared
Three detector types cover static and dynamic imaging across the VEOX portfolio. Format is configured separately, so the model name stays tied to detector type rather than panel size.
| Model | Detector Type | Format | Best Suited To |
|---|---|---|---|
| VXS | Wireless flat panel detector | 14x17 and/or 17x17 depending on launch configuration | Mobile, portable and multi-position fixed rooms |
| VXD | Wired, tethered flat panel detector | 17x17 | Fixed Bucky or wall stand positions in high-volume rooms |
| VX RF | Dynamic flat panel detector | Dynamic, high frame rate configuration | Fluoroscopy and radiography-fluoroscopy workflows |
Full detector performance, pixel pitch, active area, communication, environmental, mechanical and power specifications are provided in the VX technical catalogue during the specification stage.
VX Series Configuration at a Glance
The table summarises how a VEOX View detector is normally specified. Format and communication are configuration decisions, made against the room, the mounting position and the workflow.
For a retrofit, the questions are practical: does the panel fit the existing Bucky tray, does the room have the network and power provision needed, and does the generator support the intended synchronisation method. Those are confirmed before quotation so the upgrade is installable as designed.

Where the VX Series Fits
VEOX View covers both new system builds and the upgrade of installed equipment.
New DR Installations
Detectors specified as part of a new VEOX Fixed, U, Move, Portable or C system, delivered as one integrated imaging chain.
CR to DR Retrofit
Facilities running film or computed radiography on a serviceable generator and tube, moving to digital without replacing the room.
Mobile and Portable Fleets
Wireless panels for bedside, ward and field imaging where the detector must be positioned around the patient.
Dynamic and RF Rooms
Fluoroscopy and radiography-fluoroscopy workflows requiring high frame rate dynamic acquisition.
Supply, Installation and Support
VEOX supplies medical imaging systems to hospitals, diagnostic imaging centres, distributors and healthcare projects internationally, with active coverage across the Middle East, North Africa, the GCC and wider African markets. Requirements differ by market, from tender documentation and regulatory paperwork to electrical supply conditions and service reach, so each enquiry is scoped against the conditions at the installation site rather than a single regional template.
Project Specification
System configuration, detector format and output are matched to the facility, the case mix and the room before quotation.
Commissioning and Training
Installation planning, commissioning and radiographer familiarisation are agreed inside the project scope, not left to delivery day.
Tender and Distributor Support
Technical documentation, catalogues and configuration sheets are supplied for tender submissions and distributor enquiries.
Frequently Asked Questions About VEOX View
What is a flat panel detector?
+
A flat panel detector is the digital component that converts X-rays into an image, replacing film cassettes and computed radiography plates. The exposure is captured electronically and the image reaches the acquisition workstation within seconds, which removes the processing step and shortens the examination. The VEOX View VX Series covers wireless (VXS), wired (VXD) and dynamic (VX RF) detectors.
What is the difference between a wireless and a wired flat panel detector?
+
A wireless detector communicates and is powered independently, so it can be moved freely between the table Bucky, the wall stand and positions behind a patient, which is essential for mobile, portable and multi-position work. A wired or tethered detector keeps a permanent connection, which removes battery management and pairing from the daily routine and suits a fixed position in a high-volume room. VXS is the wireless model, VXD is the 17x17 wired model.
Can an existing X-ray room be upgraded to digital radiography?
+
In most cases yes. If the generator, tube, table and room are serviceable, adding a VEOX View flat panel detector with VEOX Workstation WX converts a film or computed radiography room to digital radiography without replacing the system. Fit inside the existing Bucky tray, network and power provision, and generator synchronisation are confirmed before quotation.
What is a dynamic RF detector used for?
+
A dynamic detector supports high frame rate acquisition, which produces a moving image rather than a single exposure. This is what fluoroscopy and radiography-fluoroscopy workflows require, for example during contrast studies and interventional guidance. VX RF is the dynamic model in the VEOX View range.
Should the detector be 14x17 or 17x17?
+
A 14x17 inch panel is the practical general radiography format and covers most routine projections. A 17x17 inch panel offers a square field that is useful for chest, spine and larger patient positioning without rotating the detector. Format is a configuration decision and is deliberately kept out of the VX model names.
Do VEOX View detectors work with VEOX Workstation?
+
Yes. VEOX View detectors integrate with VEOX Workstation WX for acquisition, viewing, editing, export and PACS routing. WX also supports multi-vendor detector integration and multi-detector connection, so a facility can run more than one panel or a mixed installed base through a single acquisition platform.
