Fixed - FX Series
Fixed Digital Radiography Systems Built Around Your Imaging Room
VEOX Fixed is a fixed digital radiography (DR) platform for dedicated X-ray rooms, available in five generator outputs from FX 20K to FX 65K. Every system combines motorised auto-tracking, a 4-way floating table and a choice of 14x17 or 17x17 flat panel detectors, so a hospital, imaging centre or new healthcare project can match the room to its real clinical workload.
What Is the VEOX Fixed FX Series?
The VEOX Fixed FX Series is a family of fixed digital radiography systems designed for permanently installed X-ray rooms in hospitals, diagnostic imaging centres and radiography departments. The series covers five generator configurations, FX 20K, FX 36K, FX 40K, FX 50K and FX 65K, so the same room architecture can be specified for a small outpatient clinic or a high-throughput hospital department.
A fixed radiography room carries the daily volume of a department. Positioning has to be quick, exposure has to be repeatable, and the system has to sit inside the radiographer's routine rather than fight it. VEOX Fixed answers that with motorised auto-tracking that coordinates the tube with the selected imaging position, a 4-way floating table for straightforward patient positioning, and a fully digital acquisition path into VEOX Workstation.
Configuration is treated as part of the project, not an afterthought. Detector format, table movement, AEC and power resilience are specified against the actual room, the actual case mix and the actual electrical supply at the installation site.
Less Manual Positioning, Faster Room Turnaround
Motorised auto-tracking is the defining capability of the FX Series. The X-ray tube coordinates automatically with the selected imaging position, whether the exposure is taken on the table Bucky or the vertical stand, which removes a large share of the manual alignment steps in a standard examination.
In a department running chest, abdomen, extremity and spine studies back to back, that difference compounds. Radiographers spend less time squaring the tube to the detector and more time on the patient, and alignment stays consistent between operators and between shifts.
- ›Automatic tube to detector alignment across table and vertical stand positions
- ›Repeatable geometry between operators, which supports consistent image quality
- ›Fewer manual adjustments per examination in high-volume rooms
Configure the Radiography Room Around Its Real Workload
Facilities differ in case mix, room size, patient profile and power supply. The FX Series is specified around those variables rather than sold as a single fixed bundle.
14x17 or 17x17 Flat Panel Detectors
Detector format is chosen against the examination profile of the room. A 17x17 panel suits chest and spine-heavy workloads, while 14x17 remains the practical general radiography choice. Panels are supplied from the VEOX View VX range.
4-Way Floating Table, 6-Way Optional
A 4-way floating tabletop is standard across the FX Series and covers routine radiography without adding complexity. A 6-way table can be quoted as an optional configuration where the case mix justifies it, subject to technical confirmation on the specific model.
End to End Digital Workflow
Acquisition, review, editing and PACS routing run through VEOX Workstation WX, with DICOM 3.0 support, worklist retrieval and auto-send. Where an analog configuration is required, it stays inside the same VEOX Fixed family without a separate model name.
VEOX Fixed FX Series Models Compared
The FX Series spans five generator power configurations. The right model is selected on clinical application, daily patient throughput and the electrical infrastructure available at the site.
| Model | Positioning | Typical Environment | Detector Options |
|---|---|---|---|
| FX 20K | Entry fixed DR room | Clinics, polyclinics, low to moderate daily volume | 14x17 or 17x17 |
| FX 36K | General radiography | Diagnostic imaging centres, district hospitals | 14x17 or 17x17 |
| FX 40K | General to high throughput | Hospital radiography departments | 14x17 or 17x17 |
| FX 50K | High throughput | Busy hospital departments, larger patient profiles | 14x17 or 17x17 |
| FX 65K | Maximum output in the series | Tertiary hospitals, heavy daily case load | 14x17 or 17x17 |
Full generator, tube, table, Bucky, detector, AEC, collimator, electrical and mechanical data is provided in the FX technical catalogue during the specification stage.
FX Series Configuration at a Glance
The table summarises how a VEOX Fixed room is normally specified. Items marked as configurable are set against the project during technical assessment, which is where detector choice, table movement and power resilience are locked down.
Not every facility runs on a stable grid. Where supply conditions are demanding, stored-energy or capacitor-based approaches can be configured for the installation rather than offered as a generic promise. VEOX treats power resilience as an engineering decision made per site.

Frequently Asked Questions About VEOX Fixed
What is a fixed digital radiography system?
+
A fixed digital radiography system is an X-ray unit permanently installed in a dedicated imaging room, combining a generator, a ceiling or floor mounted tube, a patient table, a vertical stand and a digital flat panel detector. Unlike a mobile unit, it stays in place and is designed for continuous departmental throughput. The VEOX Fixed FX Series is this type of system, offered in five generator outputs from FX 20K to FX 65K.
What does motorised auto-tracking actually do?
+
Auto-tracking automatically coordinates the X-ray tube with the selected imaging position, so the tube follows the table Bucky or the vertical stand instead of being aligned by hand for every projection. The practical result is fewer manual adjustments per examination, more consistent geometry between operators, and faster room turnaround in departments running back to back studies.
Which FX model should a hospital choose?
+
Model selection is driven by three factors: the clinical application mix, the daily patient throughput, and the electrical infrastructure at the site. FX 20K and FX 36K suit clinics and moderate volume imaging centres. FX 40K and FX 50K suit hospital radiography departments with steady daily load. FX 65K is specified where the department carries heavy volume or a demanding case mix. A technical assessment confirms the appropriate model before quotation.
Should the room use a 14x17 or a 17x17 detector?
+
A 14x17 inch panel is the practical general radiography choice and covers the majority of routine projections. A 17x17 inch panel gives a square field that is useful for chest, spine and larger patient positioning without rotating the detector. Both formats are available across the FX Series and are supplied from the VEOX View VX detector range.
Can VEOX Fixed operate where the power supply is unstable?
+
Power resilience is handled as a per-site configuration. Where the installation faces demanding supply conditions, stored-energy or capacitor-based approaches can be specified for that project. The approach is decided during the infrastructure assessment, not applied as a single standard specification across every installation.
Is an analog configuration available in the FX Series?
+
VEOX Fixed is positioned primarily around digital radiography. Where an analog configuration is required for a specific project, it is offered within the same VEOX Fixed family and does not carry a separate model name, which keeps the product architecture simple across a facility or a distributor portfolio.
